His Excellency Mohamed Helal Al Mheiri, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Chamber and Member of the Higher Committee of SKEA, said that the award is the first excellence award to launch in Abu Dhabi in 1999 as a program, a roadmap and an approach towards sustainable development. He noted that SKEA is the first program in Abu Dhabi to cope with the best international practices and to adopt the European Model by being the national partner for European Foundation for Quality management (EFQM).
The Director General pointed out that SKEA is witnessing a huge development in regard to new technologies that evaluation and decision-making processes were done by using an integrated smart system that goes in line with the digital transformation requirements and 4th industrial revolution. The higher management of SKEA will announce two new initiatives in this regard during the closing ceremony of the award.Al Mheiri added that more than 50 entities are participating in the 18th edition of SKEA representing all economic sectors including the industrial, health, tourism, services, trade, education, financial and vocational sectors inside the country and abroad.
The percentage of companies which are participating for the first time in the award jumped to 51%. In addition, more than 200 assessors are playing a part of the award with the number Emirati nationals rose significantly and that is considered a step forward in realizing the objectives of the award in regard to Emiratizing the experts of excellence.
It is worth noting that SKEA Office started making field visits and personal interviewed for all the categories of the 18th edition of the award, whether inside the UAE or abroad. The results will be handed to the jury and then to the Higher Committee of the award. The name of winners will be announced during the closing ceremony of SKEA.
