Attended by H.E. Jair Bolsonaro, President of Brazil. The UAE-Brazil Business Forum kicks off in Abu Dhabi

The forum witnessed the attendance of dignitaries and senior officials including His Excellency Eng. Suheil Al Mazroui, Minister of Energy and Industry; His Excellency Eng. Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Minister of Economy; His Excellency Ahmed Al Sayegh, Minister of State; His Excellency Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Hamed, Chairman of the Department of Health in Abu Dhabi; and His Excellency Awaidha Murshed Al Marar, Chairman of the Department of Energy.



 

His Excellency Ibrahim Al Mahmoud, 1st Deputy Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Chamber; His Excellency Mohamed Helal Al Mheiri, Director General of the Chamber, and more than 100 Emirati and Brazilian businessmen attended the forum as well.

During the forum the Department of Economic Development and Apex – Brazil signed a memorandum of understanding to enhance the relationship between the two sides and share information on the business and investment environment in two countries.



The forum included a presentation on Brazil’s Macroeconomic Scenario and Investment Opportunities and another one on the UAE’s Macroeconomic Scenario and Investment Opportunities; whereas the panel discussion tackled the subjects “the UAE as a gateway for Brazil’s access to Regional Market” and “Investment Opportunities in Brazil focused on Infrastructure”.

In his remarks, H.E. Ahmed Al Sayegh, Minister of State, welcomed the President of Brazil H.E. Jair Bolsonaro, expressing his thanks and appreciation for his participation in the forum, noting that his participation reflects the awareness and determination of the Brazilian leadership of enhancing the relations between the two countries.

H.E. Al Sayegh also extended his thanks to the organizers of the forum, saying that the forum represents an exceptional opportunity for participants from the public and private sectors to share their experiences and exploring cooperation opportunities as well as forming strategic relations.

For his part, H.E. Ibrahim Al Mahmoud, 1st Deputy Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Chamber, said in his welcoming remarks that the visit of the Brazilian President will contribute to strengthening trade relations and cooperation between businesses in both countries. 

He added that the UAE and Brazil share distinguished relations, however, such relations does not reflect enough on the volume of trade exchange and economic cooperation between them, which requires from both sides to double their efforts and hold joint investment projects both in the UAE and Brazil.
