Concluding the 4th phase of Habilitation and Developing Arbitrators Program 2019
The Abu Dhabi Commercial Conciliation and Arbitration Centre (ADSB) – One of the initiatives of the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, concluded the fourth phase of Habilitation and Developing Arbitrators Program 2019 under the title "Implementation or Annulling of the Arbitration Award", organized in cooperation with the GCC Commercial Arbitration Center. This program consists of six stages which qualify the participants registered as an arbitrator approved on the arbitrators schedule of the Gulf Arbitration Center and carry its official badge.
The 4th phase presented 4 practical workshops held on 4 days. The relationship between the systems of requesting the implementation of the Arbitration Ward or annulling it has been explained and clarified. It also casted light on the basic concepts in implementing local and foreign Arbitration Award. Key international and regional agreements in this connection as well as the consequences of annulling the Arbitration Award have been introduced and explained.
The program of habilitating and developing arbitrators is one of the approved programs that have been launched since 2013, where 40-65 participants participate annually.
The program contributes to the qualification of the national cadres in the Gulf states to work in the field of arbitration and to raise the level of arbitral performance among workers and those interested in the affairs of arbitration, under scientific supervision managed by Dr. Magdy Ibrahim Qassem – Executive Director of the Abu Dhabi Commercial Conciliation and Arbitration Centre which is one of the first arbitration centers established in the region in1993.
Also, it serves as an alternative judicial platform for settling trade and investment disputes, based on global best practice simulation.
