In its third edition Abu Dhabi Business Forum kicks off with huge economic initiatives and new development incentives



He
added that under the slogan “Ghadan 21, A New Era of Opportunities”, the Abu
Dhabi Business Forum in its third edition, held under the patronage of His
Highness Sheikh Hazza Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice Chairman of the Abu Dhabi
Executive Council, is a true translation to the directives of the Abu Dhabi Government's
wise leadership towards enhancing its partnership with the private sector in
many key development sectors such as the industry, education, healthcare,
energy, IT to name just a few.




This
year's forum is an opportunity for participants to explore the opportunities,
potentials and incentives offered by government agencies in Abu Dhabi to
encourage companies, institutions and individuals to seize the available
investment opportunities in Abu Dhabi and enter into a real partnership with
the public sector.

Al Hajeri pointed out that the main objective of the third edition of the Abu
Dhabi Business Forum is to follow the directives and aspirations of the Abu
Dhabi Government's wise leadership in realizing Abu Dhabi’s Program for
Development Accelerators "Ghadan 21", which has allocated a budget of
50 billion dirhams for the next three years, 20 billion of which will be
allocated for 2019 alone, including the economic package led by the Department
of Economic Development – Abu Dhabi.




For
his part, His Excellency Mohammed Thani Al-Rumaithi, Chairman of Abu Dhabi
Chamber of Commerce and Industry, praised the unlimited support of His Highness
Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE; and His Highness
Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy
Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, to the private sector in the UAE in
general and Abu Dhabi in particular.





Under
the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice-Chairman
of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, the 3rd edition of the Abu Dhabi Business
Forum 2018 kicked off at the Rosewood Hotel in Abu Dhabi under the title:
Ghadan 21, A New Era of Opportunities.

Organized
by the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry in cooperation with the
Department of Economic Development, the forum witnessed the attendance of a
large number of officials, dignitaries and VIPs in addition to a large number
of companies operating in the emirate.

In
his opening remarks, His Excellency Saif Mohamed Al Hajeri, Chairman of
Department of Economic Development – Abu Dhabi, said that the forum represents
an addition to the efforts of the government to improve the partnership between
the public sector and the private one within a clear strategy and comprehensive
plans to increase the contribution of the private sector to the GDP of the
emirate considering it a key partner to the government in pushing the wheel of
economic and sustainable development forward.

He

a common goal of promoting the sustainable economic development in the Emirate
of Abu Dhabi.

his part, His Excellency Mohammed Thani Al-Rumaithi, Chairman of Abu Dhabi
Chamber of Commerce and Industry, praised the unlimited support of His Highness
Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE; and His Highness
Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy
Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, to the private sector in the UAE in
general and Abu Dhabi in particular.

He
also expressed his utmost thanks and sincere appreciation to His Highness
Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice-Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive
Council, for sponsoring the Abu Dhabi Business Forum and his continuous support
to the activities of the private sector and the Abu Dhabi Chamber in
particular.

Al-Rumaithi added that the Abu Dhabi Business Forum, in its third edition,
2018, coincides with the wise and constructive directives of the Abu Dhabi
Government which aims to accelerate economic growth and the pace of
comprehensive development, which will be the focus of the Forum's activities, under
the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hazza Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice Chairman
of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council and through its slogan for this year
"Ghadan 21, A New Era of Opportunities”.

He
pointed out that the Abu Dhabi Chamber, through organizing this important
event, aims to create a successful and integrated strategic partnership between
public and private sectors, enhance cooperation to stimulate business and
community investments, boost economic development in Abu Dhabi and promote the
competitiveness of the business environment in an attractive way that aligns
with the development of companies and institutions. “It also aims to develop
the private sector and small and medium enterprises through its incentive
programs and creative initiatives and ideas for developed and high quality
projects that will draw a new roadmap for the economy of this age based on
diversity, sustainability, creativity and innovation,” he said.

A
number of discussion panels and workshops took place alongside the forum including
a discussion panel on Abu Dhabi Program Ghadan 21, another panel on enhancing
the partnership between the public sector and the private one, and workshops
which focused on different sectors including the construction sector,
contracting, healthcare, education, and tourism.

The
Abu Dhabi Business Forum is a platform for a cooperative dialogue that brings
together senior government officials, businessmen and private sector
representatives to enhance this sector’s contribution to sustainable economic development.

The
3rd edition of the forum aimed at Promoting a competitive business environment
in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi; attracting private investments and improving the
efficiency and effectiveness of the private sector’s role in the comprehensive,
sustainable economic development in the emirate; and enabling the business
sector in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi to tap the investment opportunities provided
by government bodies and departments. It also aimed at Addressing the
challenges facing the business sector; finding appropriate solutions and
submitting recommendations of these solutions to the concerned bodies;
Providing an official platform to exchange ideas between the representatives of
the public and private sectors and highlighting the investment opportunities
available for the business sector in the emirate; and Stressing the important
role of the public sector in developing and supporting the initiatives and
projects of the private sector in the emirate.




The
