The Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry has launched the Business Sustainability Platform, which was developed to serve the business sector in Abu Dhabi and the UAE in general.
The Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry has launched the Business Sustainability Platform, which was developed to serve the business sector in Abu Dhabi and the UAE in general.
This came during a workshop held at the Chamber’s tower in Abu Dhabi and attended by a large number of businesses operating in Abu Dhabi. The workshop aimed at introducing the platform, training the participants on how to use it, and showcasing the benefits of subscribing to it. The workshop also tackled the importance of adopting the best practices in disclosing sustainability performance indexes, which go in line with the international sustainability standards.
The Abu Dhabi Chamber is amongst the first world chambers to be interested in sustainability, not for its role in developing an integrated strategy for management only, but to follow up and monitor and collect sustainability tools for its members too. This comes as a party of the international transformation towards more transparency and accountability, and within the frame of supporting companies and businesses in disclosing their sustainability-related performance. Launching the sustainability platform comes with the approach of moving towards a more sustainable development and economic diversity, which comes within the ambitions of Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030. It also copes with the growing demand for environmental social governance; therefore, the Business Sustainability Platform of the Abu Dhabi Chamber will become a key factor to increasing the competitiveness edge of Abu Dhabi in attracting sustainable investments.
