The Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry has announced the organization of Abu Dhabi-Korea Healthcare Week from 26 – 29 October

  • Abu Dhabi-Korea Healthcare Week comes to top off the strategic cooperation between the Chamber and Gangnam Ju Region in Korea
  • The schedule of the Week includes a webinar on the investment opportunities in the healthcare sector in Abu Dhabi.

The Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry has announced the organization of Abu Dhabi-Korea Healthcare Week from 26 – 29 October in cooperation with the Department of Health Abu Dhabi, Mubadala Healthcare, SEHA, Korea International Trade Association (KITA), Gangnam Ju Region Office and the Ministry of SMEs and Startups in Korea.

Organizing the week comes to discuss the available investment opportunities in the healthcare sector and to increase the cooperation between the companies operating in the healthcare sector in the two countries.

The schedule of the week included a webinar on the healthcare market and investment opportunities in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and a number of b2b matchmaking between the suppliers of medical equipment and leading beauty clinics.  

Abu Dhabi-Korea Healthcare Week comes to top off the strategic cooperation between the Abu Dhabi Chamber and Gangnam Ju Region in Korea and to expand the channels of trade and cultural and tourism exchange between the two sides.

This prestigious event also comes to cope with the 40th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between the UAE and Korea, which witnessed rapid development in all sectors including energy, manufacturing, retail and wholesale, logistics, IT, telecommunications, financial services, construction, properties and ports management to name just a few.
Commenting on the organization of the event, His Excellency Mohamed Helal Al Mheiri, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Chamber, said, “We are honored to organize this outstanding week that brings entrepreneurs and investors in the Korean healthcare sector with their counterparts in the UAE under one roof to explore the available investment opportunities in this sector.
We feel very proud that Abu Dhabi has become a destination for the most promising investment opportunities thanks to the unlimited support of the wise leadership in preparing a proper investment climate to attract the biggest international and multinational companies to Abu Dhabi which would help in realizing the comprehensive and sustainable development in the emirate.”

 

Efficient Healthcare Ecosystem

Neil David Clark, Acting Healthcare Licensing and Medical Education Director at Department of Health, said: “Over the last years, Abu Dhabi has established itself as a unique hub for efficient and high-quality healthcare ecosystem. It is known for its robust and advanced infrastructure and regulatory framework set into place, in order to achieve the vision of the UAE wise leadership to ensure the health and wellbeing of all members of the community. It has become a destination that attracts top international healthcare facilities that will contribute to continue providing world-class healthcare services, further enhance them and maintain their sustainability.”

It is worth noting that Abu Dhabi Chamber is playing an active role in realizing Abu Dhabi Vision 2030 and in enhancing the place of the emirate as an exceptional trade, tourism and economic destination by contributing to the efforts of attracting FDI, especially in healthcare considering it one of the key sectors and the fastest growing in the country.
The Chamber has also opened a representative trade office in the Korean Capital Seoul in 2015, which acts as a communication bridge between the two countries. The representative office works on promoting the available investment opportunities in Abu Dhabi and helps in holding partnerships and economic and investment cooperation as well as supporting businesses in both Abu Dhabi and Korea.
