In cooperation with Bayanat Intellectual Property Co., the Abu Dhabi Businesswomen Council, a subsidiary to the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, has organized a webinar titled: Intellectual Property: Importance to Businesses

Organizing this webinar comes within a series of development programs and initiatives conducted by the Council to apply its five-year strategic plan 2020-2024 with the aim of increasing awareness amongst businesswomen and women entrepreneurs and spreading the culture of entrepreneurship within all economic sectors. It also comes to expand and refine the skills and knowledge of women entrepreneurs and equipping them with the necessary experiences as well as increasing their role in the sustainable economic development of Abu Dhabi.

A large number of participants attended the webinar, during which they were introduced to the concept of intellectual property, its types, importance to businesses and how companies are open to risks and lack of protection if not registered in the Intellectual Property Rights.

The webinar also tackled a number of topics including the origins of intellectual property, its diverse types, categories and protection aspects for each category as well as the limits of protection and the necessity to register intellectual properties to protect businesses. The webinar also included advice and guidance on intellectual property for the attendance and answered all their enquiries.

It is worth noting that the Abu Dhabi Businesswomen Council has organized the webinar in conjunction with the celebrations on the World Intellectual Property Day on 26th of April of each year. The celebrations of this year’s day comes under the title: “IP & SMEs: Taking your ideas to market”.
