Policy, Legislation and Research Sector Responsibilities

• Act as the Chamber think tank to generate ideas on policies affecting businesses and identify policy issues facing members and investors in the Emirate.

• Formulate and disseminate views on public policies.

• Review and propose legislations.

• Support committees in their policy advocacy role.

• Undertake research on policy-related topics.
   

1. Policy and Legislation Dept.

• Act as the Chamber’s think tank to generate ideas on policies affecting businesses and identify policy issues facing members.

• Build compelling policy advocacy cases, in coordination with ADCCI’s committees.

• Build and maintain an open communication channel with members allowing them to share their policy concerns, participate in existing policy reviews and provide input on new policies (through surveys, forums, roundtables, etc.).

•  Establish and maintain close relationships with local and federal government entities and relevant business stakeholders.

•  Review and provide feedback on laws and regulations as requested by government authorities.
   

2. Committees Support Dept.

• Provide administrative support to committees such as organizing and supervising their meetings, agendas, memos and reports.

• Oversee the work of committees and identify status and obstacles in order to provide practical solutions.

• Ensure coordination between committees.

• Follow up on the recommendations issued by the committees.

• Consolidate yearly policy recommendations in a Policy Book.

• Conduct outreach programs to encourage participation in committees.

• Maintain an established relationship with the business community.

3. Policy & Legislation Research Dept.

• Prepare studies to identify best practices in specific policies that affect business operations in Abu Dhabi.

• Collect the information and data required to conduct research in coordination with the Data and Information Dept.

• Provide Policy, Legislation Directorate as well as the Committees Support Directorate with the required research to fulfill their policy-advocacy man.
