Abu Dhabi Chamber discusses expanding industrial cooperation between Abu Dhabi and Slovakia
AED 690 million the volume of trade exchange between the two countries by the end of 2016
The Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry has called on industrial companies and establishments in Slovakia to increase their investments in Abu Dhabi and to boost their cooperation with Emirati companies, especially in the sectors which Abu Dhabi Plan and its economic vision focus on.
This came during a meeting held at the Chamber’s Tower in Abu Dhabi between the Slovak visiting delegation chaired by Mr. Juraj Majtan, Director General of Bratislava Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and officials from the Chamber headed by Mr. Abdullah Ghurair Al-Qubaisi, Deputy Director General.
More than 100 companies from more than 10 key sectors in the UAE and Slovakia attended the meeting.
At the beginning of the meeting, Mr. Abdullah Ghurair Al-Qubaisi, Deputy Director General of the Abu Dhabi Chamber, said in his welcoming remarks that the UAE and Slovakia share strong and distinguished relations on all levels, pointing out that figures of trade exchange between the two countries witnessed considerable increase over the past few years to exceed AED 690 million by the end 2016. “All indicators point out that such figures would double in the coming few years thanks to the awareness of authorities in the two countries to push the wheel of economic and investment cooperation wheel forward on all levels,” he added.
The Deputy Director General pointed out that the Abu Dhabi Chamber is completely ready to provide all kinds of support to Slovakian companies desirous of investing in Abu Dhabi. “The Chamber has all the information and studies related to key projects in the emirate, and we are ready to provide consultancy and advice to Slovakian businessmen and we would be more than pleased to direct them towards sectors with high competitive aspects and export capabilities,” he elaborated.
For his part, His Excellency Dusan Horniak, Ambassador of Slovakia to the UAE, called on Emirati businesses to boost their investments and increase their presence in Slovakian markets, stating that economic and investment cooperation relations witnessed considerable growth over the past few years. “Economic and natural capabilities of the UAE and Slovakia offers great opportunity for businesses to expand their cooperation and partnerships,” he said.
Mr. Juraj Majtan, Director General of Bratislava Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry, delivered a presentation on investment opportunities in Britslava Region and the facilities the related authorities in his country provides for foreign investors and companies. He explained that many international industrial companies take from Slovakia a center point for their operations in the region and that they have branches and factories which manufacture industrial equipment and vehicles.
The Slovak official welcomed the interest and desire of Emirati companies to expand economic and investment cooperation with their Slovakian counterparts, expressing the readiness of Bratislava Chamber of Commerce to support and help Emirati companies desirous of increasing their presence in Slovakian markets.
