Cameroonian Minister of Finance invites Emirati investors to increase their investments in a number of key sectors in Cameroon

His Excellency Dr. Mubarak Al-Ameri, Board Member of the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, received His Excellency Alamine Ousmane Mey, Minister of Finance of Cameroon, and the accompanying delegation at the Chamber’s Tower in Abu Dhabi. Both sides discussed expanding cooperation between businessmen, investors and companies in Abu Dhabi and Cameroon.
Abu Dhabi Chamber Board Members His Excellency Ahmad Al Sudain and His Excellency Sanad Al-Miqbali attended the meeting along with His Excellency Abdullah Ghurair Al-Qubaisi, Deputy Director General of the Abu Dhabi Chamber. A large number of officials and dignitaries attended the meeting as well.
Ousmane Mey, Minister of Finance of Cameroon, delivered a detailed presentation on the economic state of his country, the available investment opportunities and the laws that govern foreign investments in Cameroon. He noted that the available investment opportunities before Emirati businessmen and companies are diverse and span across many sectors including the infrastructure and agriculture among other key sectors.
Mey also called on Emirati investors to increase their investments in his country and benefit from the available opportunities there, emphasizing on the need to establish an aviation and sea routs between the two countries in order to boost investments and increase trade exchange figures.
The Cameroonian minister discussed with Abu Dhabi Chamber officials the prospect of organizing an Emirati-Cameroonian investment forum during the coming months in order to inform businessmen and companies in Abu Dhabi and Cameroon of the available investment opportunities and the facilities Cameroon offers for foreign investors in addition to tax exemptions and investment incentives.
For his part, Dr. Mubarak Al-Ameri, Board Member of the Abu Dhabi Chamber, emphasized on the need of the private sector in both countries to exert more efforts towards developing economic and investment cooperation between them. He pointed out that the visit of the Cameroonian delegation will contribute to opening up new horizons for Emirati and Cameroonian companies to strengthen their investment cooperation and to hold joint projects.
His Excellency pointed out that the Chamber pays maximum attention to the need to elevate economic cooperation relations and open up new doors of investment between companies and businessmen in each of Abu Dhabi and Cameroon. He expressed the desire of many Emirati businessmen and companies to invest in Cameroon in a number of key sectors.
Al-Ameri added that Abu Dhabi Chamber is looking forward to informing its members of the investment climate in Cameroon and the available investment opportunities in detail as well as procedures and facilities Cameroon offers for Emirati investors desirous of entering Cameroonian markets.
